It offers both the in-person training and continuing updates and support. Provider members of AHCA and NCHCFA who register for the PDPM Academy will have access to a PDPM 101 workshop Webinar, a full day in-person training, monthly workshop Webinars on key topics and emerging PDPM issues, and “how to” Webinars on implementing additional tools developed by AHCA. Brochures and registration will be made available in February. |
NEW MEDICARE PDPM WEBPAGE |
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released a new article that introduces SNF providers to the new Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) Webpage. PDPM starts on October 1, 2019. This new Webpage includes a variety of educational and training resources to assist providers in preparing for PDPM implementation and this article contains a summary of some of these educational and training resources for review. Providers may refer to the PDPM Webpage for more information from its Fact Sheets, Frequently Asked Questions, a PowerPoint training presentation, and other PDPM Resources. EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS RESOURCES |
As providers are aware, in addition to planning for natural disasters, staff and facilities must be prepared for other emergencies, such as pandemics, influenza, active shooters and more. All emergency situations must be handled swiftly, diligently, and with the utmost care for staff and patients. The American Health Care Association (AHCA) has a dedicated Website page with emergency preparedness resources that providers may find of assistance. The page, which can be found here, includes resources by state with information on the CMS Emergency Preparedness Final Rule that was released in 2016. If you have any questions on the work AHCA is doing around nursing facility emergency preparedness, please contact AHCA’s Erin Prendergast. |
MCKNIGHT’S THE BRIGHTER SIDE CAMPAIGN |
McKnight’s is looking for long term care facilities to share their positive stories. The American Health Care Association (AHCA) is encouraging members to make an extra effort to push out positive stories, and The Brighter Side campaign would be a great avenue to do so. Please send your positive stories to AHCA at ccrawford@ahca.org. AHCA will compile these stories for McKnight’s. |
