NCHCFA President & CEO Speaks at NC Chamber Health Care Conference

Adam Sholar, NCHCFA President & CEO, was a panelist at the NC Chamber Health Care Conference on September 14 in Durham.   

The panel, moderated by Vincent Ginski, Director, Workforce Competitiveness, NC Chamber Foundation, was a discussion on the healthcare workforce need in NC and what is being done to address it.   

North Carolina will need 17,500 more nurses over the next 10 years to keep up with the state’s aging and growing population. The panel presented an update on the work the NC Chamber Foundation is doing to tackle the state’s health workforce shortages, including partnerships, and utilizing the Talent Pipeline Management® framework to engage local partners in employer-led collaboratives that will help inform workforce development solutions.  

NCHCFA was one of the driving forces that led to the creation of the Talent Pipeline Management® framework.  

Other panelists included Natalie English, President & Chief Executive Officer, Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, and Hugh Tilson, Jr., JD, MPH, Director, North Carolina Area Health Education Centers (NC AHEC).
