NC CareGivers Quarterly Report

NC CareGivers logo

NC CareGivers is proud to partner with North Carolina’s skilled nursing facilities to address the critical shortage of nurse aides in our state. The overall goal of the NC CareGivers Program is to add at least 4,000 new nurse aides to work in skilled nursing facilities by the end of the three-year grant.

As of today, 236 skilled nursing facilities, fifty-two community colleges and twelve proprietary schools have registered to participate in the NC CareGivers Program. Congratulations and thank you for being one of our participating facilities.

As of September 30th, we have 847 Nurse Aid I students and fifty-eight Nurse Aide I Refresher students that have registered to participate in the program. Currently, 149 of these students are enrolled in a training program and ninety-six have completed their program. According to our records, participants have completed classes from A.I.M. Medical Training College, Arise Health Training Institute, Bladen Community College, Cape Fear Community College, College of The Albemarle, Cleveland Community College, Cumberland Nursing Academy, Fayetteville Technical Community College, Guilford Technical Community College, Divine Health Academy, Gaston College, Making Visions Training Center, Pitt Community College, Randolph Community College, Sandhills Community College, Southeastern Community College, Southwestern Community College and Tri-County Community College. There may be additional enrollees/completers that have not been entered into the Qualtrics system.

Congratulations to Peak Resources – Outer Banks for hiring an NC CareGivers CNA. They are the first skilled nursing facility who has entered hiring/employment information into the Qualtrics system. Have you employed an NC CareGivers participant, if so, please enter their NC CareGiver’s ten-digit student ID number into the Qualtrics system. Please click on the SNF How-To Video https://www.nccaregivers.org/landing01/ and it will assist you in the process. Please email reneeb@futurecarenc.org or call (252) 292-3793 if you need assistance.

Educational webinars are available for all staff at participating SNFs. In July and August, the webinars were “Accountability Through Candid Conversations” and in September “How to Read Results from Your Employee Survey.” All our webinars are recorded and available. In October, the scheduled webinar is “Action Planning Check-In.” The webinar is scheduled for October 12th at 10 AM and October 19th at 2 PM. It should be an excellent one for all of us to see. It is not too late to register.

Thank you to the eighty-seven skilled nursing facilities that participated in the Second Annual Employee Satisfaction/Engagement Survey. On July 15th NRC Health sent 8,482 employee surveys to the email addresses provided on the employee data file by participating facilities. Individual reports were sent to the participating skilled nursing facilities last month. We had 1,705 employees return their surveys, which is a twenty percent response rate. Congratulations on your results! Did you notice that the overall net promoter score improved by 23 points? The net promoter score is how likely an employee is to recommend your organization as a place to work. It is a loyalty indicator. If you have questions about your individual reports, please let us know.
