Thank you to all CNAs: Appreciation messages from our members

Today concludes CNA Week 2023, but the hard work and dedication of these “unstoppable” individuals does not go unnoticed. Here are messages from our members to share with CNAs in your facility.

Congratulations to every CNA in North Carolina! CNAs are the backbone of long term care. They do everything needed that a resident can’t do for themselves! CNAs have to be well educated, able, and willing to do this hard work. And they do it with love. Thank you to every CNA in our state. You are a hero every day!” –Ted Goins, NCHCFA Board Chair, Lutheran Services Carolinas

“Just imagine what it would be like if there was no one to meet all your loved one needs, but in a nursing home there always will be their special touch to it, where you guessed it, CNAs. I want to give a special shoutout to all our wonderful CNAs that we have at Gates Health and Rehab to provide great quality care at our facility. I hope every one of you continue to enjoy not just this week, but the weeks ahead, and again, thank you all for everything.” –Patrick Lancaster, Gates Health and Rehab

“I have worked in LTC since 1980 and cannot say enough about the CNAs who work in LTC. These individuals are the backbone of the industry, they work tirelessly each and every day. To say that the CNAs are “unstoppable” is an understatement. They are more than that. Over the past three years their work lives have been turned upside down with a pandemic and all the “extras” that came with it, but through all of this they still come to work each day to enrich the lives of the residents that they care for day in and day out. To the CNAs at Autumn Care of Saluda and to all the CNAs I salute you!!!! I couldn’t do my job with every one of you!!!!” –Brian Parsons, Autumn Care of Saluda

“Thank you, TY!!!! All day long, no one is more consistent with customer service and delivering the best care that I have witnessed. As a therapist, we really want everyone up and out of bed, and she delivers on this every time! She doesn’t cut corners and the residents and families notice. Knowing a new admit has just arrived and they are scared not knowing what is going on most of the time, I know Ty will connect with them and reduce their fear. This begins the cycle of high-quality care, and our rehab team will all testify how this makes all the difference.” –John Hill, Adam’s Farm Rehabilitation and Living

“Our CNAs are the foundation of the amazing care our residents receive. They treat their residents like family with love and unwavering compassion. Their dedication is like none other. Happy CNA Week!” –Dottie Jette, SanStone Health & Rehabilitation

“I’ve been a nurse for over 20 years and worked as a CNA while in nursing school. CNAs are the hardest workers who receive the least amount of recognition in healthcare. Without CNAs, our nurses and physicians would be at a huge disadvantage. CNAs are the backbone of healthcare!” –Alyssa Brown, Century Care Management

“Tower Nursing and Rehabilitation would like to thank all our wonderful CNAs. Tower CNAs are Unstoppable – A Force to be Reckoned With. We appreciate your hard work, care, and concern that you provide for our residents! Tower CNAs are valued team members. We recognize and celebrate Tower CNAs during CNA week and throughout the entire year.” —Jacqueline Mitchell, Tower Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

Established by the National Association of Health Care Assistants (NAHCA), this year’s theme is “We’re Unstoppable.” The NAHCA mission is to elevate the professional standing and performance of a CNA and other caregivers through recognition, advocacy, education, and empowerment while building a strong alliance with health care providers to maximize success and quality patient care.
