Reprocessed Nursing Facility Claims with March 2020 Date of Service Range Requiring Provider Adjustments

In March 2020, a temporary 5% rate increase was approved for nursing facilities effective on March 10, 2020. In order to get these funds to nursing facilities as quickly as possible, it was paid for all claims with dates of services in March 2020.  This resulted in an overpayment for dates of service March 1-9, 2020.  

Recently, NCTracks has started to recoup the overpaid funds for March 1-9, 2020.  Several providers have reported that the recoupment impacted claims paid outside of the March 1-9 dates of service.  In order to address this situation, Medicaid has released clarification on these claims.  This additional information can be found at:
