DHSR, Nursing Home Licensure and Certification MDS Training for Spring 2025
Every year the Nursing Home Licensure and Certification Section offers training for Minimum Data Set coding. The purpose of this training is to offer providers guidance about how to use the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) correctly and effectively to help provide appropriate care. The RAI consists of three basic components: The Minimum Data Set (MDS) Version 3.0, the Care Area Assessment (CAA) process and the RAI utilization guidelines.
In Spring 2025, seven 90-minute training sessions for coding the MDS will be offered in March and April via Teams. There is no charge to the providers. We encourage all disciplines participating in completing any section of the MDS to attend.
The 2024-2025 MDS Training with Updates handout is posted on the DHSR training webpage below the dates and Teams link. This handout contains all the slides presented.
The sessions have been set up for the participant to attend any session on any date listed. The link for Teams is the same for every session, and registration is not required to join the Teams sessions. All sessions are from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. on the following dates:
