IN THE NEWS: SHOLAR PENS LETTER TO EDITOR DECRYING ATTACK AD |
In response to a recent attack ad targeting members, NCHCFA President and CEO Adam Sholar wrote a letter to the editor to The News Harold, which ran an ad placed by a law firm targeting local nursing homes in the Morganton area. In defense of members, Sholar wrote, “The retired teachers, farmers, doctors, homemakers, veterans, and business people who receive care in North Carolina’s nursing homes do not deserve to have their caregivers targeted by third-party organizations with little knowledge of the actual care provided. Our caregivers strive every day to provide the best possible care to patients who are frail, elderly or recuperating from a recent hospitalization.” Sholar continues, “The best way to understand what is happening in our state’s nursing homes is to go visit one in your community. Find out what’s happening in your local nursing homes-get to know the seniors and their caregivers in your community. See for yourself the exceptional level of care and compassion provided every day by these trusted, caring community partners.” Read the full text: Letter to the Editor: Ad on Nursing Homes Inaccurate (The News Herald, August 30, 2018) |
