ONLY ONE WEEK LEFT! REGISTER TODAY FOR ICD-10-CM-ESSENTIALS FOR LONG TERM CARE! ARE YOU READY?

October 1st is fast approaching! NC Health Care Facilities Association presents ICD-10-CM Essentials for Long Term Care July 14th, 2015 in Raleigh, NC! As you know, the International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM) code set will soon replace the International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-9-CM) code set used to report medical diagnoses and inpatient procedures through the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standard transactions. Any provider covered by the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA), including most long-term and post-acute care organizations must implement ICD-10-CM by October 1, 2015. • Learn structure, organization, and unique features of ICD-10.

• Demonstrate ability to look up and code basic diagnoses.
• Understand how coding relates to billing.
• Relate coding guidelines to all types of care.

KEPRO UPDATE

Since August 2014, in compliance with their CMS contract, KEPRO has accepted forwarded calls from state-based QIN-QIO’s toll-free number that was previously used for beneficiary complaints and appeals. CMS requested that this be implemented during the first year of the contract to help with the transition. Beginning August 1, 2015, these calls will no longer be forwarded, and the numbers will be disconnected.

The Helpline numbers for KEPRO will remain the same and in effect. KEPRO requests that providers check their records and beneficiary notices to make sure that the correct direct Helpline number for KEPRO is being used. KEPRO’s toll-free Helpline number for Area 2, which includes North Carolina, is (844) 455-8708.
