Gilma Burge Garrett, 90, of Durham passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020.  A native of Guilford County, NC, she was the wife of the late J. R. Garrett, Jr.  Gilma and her husband co-owned and operated Hillcrest Convalescent Center for 48 years and were partners in Autumn Corporation. Mrs. Garrett was a leader in the development and growth of the North Carolina Health Care Facilities Association.  She served as chairman for the Association and was appointed by the governor to the N. C. Medical Care Commission. Mrs. Garrett was a former Miss Burlington and a member of Davis Street United Methodist Church.
