NC DHHS Nursing Home Licensure and Certification Section Offering Free Training for Minimum Data Set Coding in October

DHHS logo

Every year the NC DHHS Nursing Home Licensure and Certification Section offers training for Minimum Data Set coding.  The purpose of this training is to offer providers guidance about how to use the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) correctly and effectively to help provide appropriate care. The RAI consists of three basic components: The Minimum Data Set (MDS) Version 3.0, the Care Area Assessment (CAA) process and the RAI utilization guidelines.

Each MDS Coding class is 60 to 90 minutes in length and will be available via Microsoft Teams. There is no charge to the providers and registration is not necessary. The meeting link is included below. All disciplines participating in completing any section of the MDS is encouraged to attend.

Each participant should print out or save a copy of the NC MDS 3.0 handout posted on the DHSR training webpage and have it available during the workshop. Having your copy of the RAI Manual may be helpful.

Dates and times for the training opportunities can also be found on the NC Division of Health Service Regulation Nursing Home Licensure and Certification Section website: https://info.ncdhhs.gov/dhsr/nhlcs/training.html
