NCHCFA Sends Joint Letter to CMS Opposing Minimum Staffing Rule

NCHCFA joined with the NC Healthcare Association (hospitals), the NC Medical Society, and LeadingAge NC to urge CMS not to proceed with its proposed minimum staffing rule for nursing facilities.

The organizations explained that the proposed rule would have the effect of limiting access to care in North Carolina for those who need quality post-acute or long-term facility-based care and that patients and families would be negatively impacted if the rule goes into effect.  They urged CMS instead to focus on meaningful efforts to grow the healthcare workforce.
