Medicaid Rate Calculators

Typically, nursing facility rates are changed quarterly. Each quarter is updated with changes in the Medicaid case-mix. Other quarters also include updates for Fair Rental Value (FRV) and inflation.  

NCHCFA makes available a Medicaid rate calculator which is an Excel spreadsheet to help our member facilities confirm and better understand the calculation of their rates and allow a provider to see a hypothetical rate based on any case-mix and/or a proposed facility renovation or addition. All a facility needs to do to see their rate calculation is enter their NPI. The NPI is used to populate the rate calculator with information from the rate model maintained by Medicaid.   

The rate calculators for the July 1, 2023, revised rates and the October 1, 2023, rates are now available on the NCHCFA website.
