HHS CLARIFICATION OF MISLEADING INFORMATION

An error occurred in correspondence that was released by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued last week regarding use of provider relief fund payments. HHS’s policy regarding eligible use of provider relief funds did not change and HHS issued clarification through updated FAQs that Provider Relief Fund payments cannot be used towards the repayment of CMS’s Advance Accelerated Payment loans. CMS is correcting the correspondence upon discovery of the error.
