North Carolina announces new state budget

The NC General Assembly is voting this week on a new state budget and Gov. Roy Cooper announced yesterday, November 16th that he will sign it into law.  The budget, the product of months of discussion among state leaders, includes needed funding for the Medicaid program and makes available additional grant funding for NCHCFA to provide to members.  The new state budget also includes funding for one-time bonuses for certain direct care workers in nursing homes and certain other long-term care settings of up to $2,000.
