ELECTRONIC SIGNATURES FOR MEDICAID APPLICATION DOCUMENTS

With visitation restrictions in place, several providers have had questions on the use of electronic signatures for Medicaid purposes. Most DSS offices have updated their websites to include direct numbers, dedicated fax lines or email addresses.

After a Medicaid applicant has been interviewed over the phone, the facility could assist by having the individual sign the application and fax or email to the proper DSS office.

Remember a “typed” signature is not an electronic signature. Click here to view a copy of an administrative letter that is still active policy.
