AHCA Product of the Week: Trauma-Informed Care Training

Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) is a federal regulatory requirement, but it is also an approach to care that requires specific staff competency as well as a system of care delivery to achieve the intent of the regulation and provide the necessary support to care for residents who may suffer from trauma. Developed in partnership with AAPACN, this certificate program is designed to provide education that will assist facility leaders in implementing TIC in their facility with staff who are appropriately trained and competent to care for residents who are at risk for re-traumatization.    

Following this on-demand workshop, you will be able to:   

  • Define Trauma-Informed Care and identify its six key principles 
  • Coordinate the IDT to design a process that supports collaboration for Trauma-Informed Care 
  • Identify the necessary areas to implement Trauma-Informed Care

Two certificates can be awarded upon successful completion of the program:  

  1. You must have completed at least 80% of the educational activity to be eligible for 5.10 continuing education hours (CEs) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
  2. You must take and pass the final exam with a score of at least 70% to receive 5.75 continuing education hours (CEs) from the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB).
