Registration is available for the remaining webinars in the 5-Star Work Plans from A to Z series.   

In this session you will learn how the quality measure rating is calculated and how it impacts your overall 5-Star rating, with a discussion on each quality measure that impacts the 5-Star rating. Tips on how to analyze your quality measure data and develop actionable plans to achieve 5-Star rating will be discussed.  

The series examines the three domains of the CMS 5-Star Quality Rating System: Health Inspections, Staffing and Quality Measures. This includes how the rating is calculated and analyzing your data with a focus on developing a work plan to improve or maintain 5-Star Status. Common obstacles to 5-Star Status will be discussed with tips and strategies for advancing facility performance.  

Individual webinar registration is $55 per person per webinar.

All webinars are from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. EST on the following dates: 

  • February 15: Quality Measure Domain: Part 3. In this session you will learn how the quality measure rating is calculated and how it impacts your overall 5-Star rating, with a discussion on each quality measure that impacts the 5-Star rating. Tips on how to analyze your quality measure data and develop actionable plans to achieve 5-Star rating will be discussed. 
  • February 22: Developing a Facility-Specific Work Plan for 5-Star Improvement. This session will focus on developing a work plan to improve your 5-Star rating.

Nursing Home Administrators, Director of Nursing, Nursing Leadership, Facility Department Managers, RAI Coordinator and QA Director.

The series is presented by Shelly Maffia, MSN, MBA, RN, LNHA, QCP, CHC, CLNC, CPC Director of Regulatory Services, Proactive Medical. Shelly Maffia is a Registered Nurse and Licensed Nursing Home Administrator with experience serving as an Administrator, Director of Nursing and as a multi-site Corporate Nurse Consultant. She holds AAPACN’s QAPI Certified Professional (QCP) credential, is certified in healthcare compliance through the Healthcare Compliance Association (HCCA) and is an Infection preventionist. She presents extensively on LTC clinical, regulatory and compliance matters.  

HOW TO ATTEND 

Join the live program from your office, home or hotel room using a computer with high-speed internet. You may ask questions, participate in surveys and post comments from your computer during the program. Please note that credit (if available) is only provided to registered attendees participating for the entire length of the program. Simple instructions with a link to the program will be sent via email when you register and again the day before the webinar.  

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS 

One contact hour for each webinar; Nursing Home Administrators – NAB approved through Proactive LTC Consulting.  

NC Nursing Home Administrators can earn up to 1.0 hour of continuing education for EACH webinar attended. The North Carolina Health Care Facilities Association is a registered sponsor of continuing education with the NC State Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators. Registration and CE are provided for one person. Name changes for series registrants will not be available. Webinars are recorded and will be provided at no additional charge to paid registrants. However, CEs are not available for viewing a recording.
