Reminder Regarding Reporting Data to the CDC’s NHSN
As a reminder, nursing homes are still required to report data to the CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) under the F884 regulation and for the Skilled Nursing Facility Quality Reporting Program (SNF QRP).
While NCHCFA is not currently aware of enforcement activity related to F884, there are substantial consequences associated with missed SNF QRP reporting requirements. Facilities that do not meet reporting deadlines may be subject to a 2% reduction in Medicare reimbursement for the applicable fiscal year.
Current SNF QRP reporting requirements include:
- COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage among Healthcare Personnel. Facilities are required to report data for one week of every month.
- Influenza Vaccination Coverage among Healthcare Personnel. Facilities are required to submit a single, annual report.
The deadline for both measures was May 18, 2026.
Several resources are also available for members for NHSN:
- NHSN Tip Sheet
- CMS System Application Access Guide for Nursing Homes (including how to obtain both a SAMS account and NHSN access)
