Non-Regulatory Infection Prevention Support for LTC Facilities
The North Carolina Division of Public Health RIPS* and SHARPPS* Programs, in partnership with NC SPICE*, provides non-regulatory infection prevention support and education for long-term care facilities. Services are at no cost to the facility.
Offered services include:
- On-site education for frontline staff on topics such as Hand Hygiene, Environmental Cleaning, and Transmission-based Precautions.
- Site visits to assess facility infection control gaps and offer recommendations.
- Support for facility infection preventionists, including 1:1 mentorship with new infection preventionists.
- Education regarding multidrug-resistant organism (MDRO) prevention, and consultation for outbreak containment and response.
