webinars

NCHCFA has partnered with Proactive LTC Consulting to offer two 12-month webinar series again in 2025.  “Survey Smart: LTC Deficiency Trends and Solutions” begins on January 14 and “Reducing Litigation Risk for SNF & AL” begins on January 21. Both series are from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

The “Survey Smart: LTC Deficiency Trends and Solutions” webinar series offers long-term care professionals an in-depth understanding of the most frequently cited deficiencies in nursing homes with practical solutions to avoid similar citations. Each session focuses on a specific regulatory requirement, such as infection prevention, accident hazards, comprehensive care planning, and pharmacy services. Participants will learn about the latest regulatory updates, common pitfalls, and effective strategies to maintain compliance and improve quality of care. Through case studies and practical insights, this series equips nursing home leaders, compliance staff, and administrators with the tools they need to navigate complex regulations and ensure the highest standards of resident care.

Reducing Litigation Risk for SNF & AL” is a wide-ranging 12-month compliance and risk management focused series that will provide healthcare professionals with insight into the long-term care litigation process and best practices for avoiding lawsuits. Instructors will include a LTC Legal Nurse Consultant with guest sessions by experienced nursing home defense attorneys. Monthly discussion will include the LTC “Hot Topics” of falls and accidents, elopement, resident changes in condition, internal investigations, incident management, medication management, communication practices and fraud and abuse. Checklists and tools will be provided to assist in assessing and monitoring areas of high litigation risk within the facility.

These are also great opportunities to earn up to 12 CEUs for each series or 24 CEUs for both series. Each session is approved for 1 hour of continuing education from the NAB through Proactive LTC Consulting. NC Nursing Home Administrators can earn up to 1 hour of continuing education. NCHCFA is a registered sponsor of continuing education with the NC State Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators.
