CMS Updates Guidance for Multiple Regulations

CMS released a memo titled “Long-Term Care (LTC) Surveyor Guidance Process: Significant Updates Aim to Enhance the Quality and Oversight of LTC Surveys“ on November 18.   

Surveyors will use this guidance to determine compliance with requirements beginning February 24, 2025.  

The changes affect everything from admission and discharge standards to the use of psychotropic medications and newly adopted infection prevention practices. Click here to review the regulations which are impacted by the revised guidance.
