Each monthly session focuses on a critical area of operational or clinical risk, blending regulatory guidance with practical strategies for implementation. Leadership 101: Manager and Supervisor Live Training

Leadership 101 is a six-session live virtual training designed for new managers in health care. Leadership 101 trainers bring decades of experience working with health care teams.This training will give new managers the skills, tools, and coaching they need. New leaders learn how to: handle tough conversations without drama, hold their team accountable with confidence, build trust and create a culture of high performance, and much more. DON Playbook: Skills for Today’s LTC Nurse Leader

This is a monthly series; All sessions are from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

This series focuses on the core competencies and strategies of an effective Director of Nursing. Monthly sessions focus on critical skills including leading teams, implementing strong systems for key tasks, and mastering the QAPI approach to drive performance outcomes. Experienced nurse leaders share key insights to address common problems and high-risk issues that can derail facility success. Each session throughout the year is a mini-workshop which aims to come alongside the busy DON to offer useful strategies to de-stress the role and bring wisdom and clarity to serve residents and staff with excellence.

 

TEAM MDS! Insights & Coaching for Quality Coding and PDPM Success

This is a monthly series; All sessions are from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

This monthly webinar and coaching series is designed to strengthen facility MDS teams with practical, hands-on lessons in coding accuracy, documentation, and PDPM proficiency. Each session tackles a high-impact topic—ranging from mastering GG and self-care/mobility items, rooting out common coding errors, ICD-10 sequencing, and care planning, to understanding the financial impact of MDS on reimbursement, quality measures, and survey readiness. Participants will gain confidence in applying RAI Manual guidance, sharpen skills in CAA development and interdisciplinary collaboration, and learn proven strategies for maintaining compliance while maximizing outcomes. With a mix of teaching, real-world case examples, and coaching, this series equips MDS coordinators, nurses, and IDT members with the tools needed to thrive in today’s regulatory and reimbursement landscape.

Roadmap to 5-Star Wins (January – March; 6-week Series)
This series will focus on exploring the three domains of the CMS 5 Star Quality Rating System: Health Inspections, Staffing, and Quality Measures, as well as a review of the SNF QRP program. You will learn how the health inspection, staffing, quality measure, and overall rating is calculated. Tips on how to analyze your data and key insights to develop stepwise work plans to achieve 5-Star status will be discussed, along with application of the elements of QAPI process to improve and sustain facility 5-Star Ratings.

Quality Measure Deep Dive (March – April; 7-week Series)
This webinar series takes a closer look at Quality Measures (QMs) that drive outcomes, compliance, and reimbursement in skilled nursing facilities. Across seven sessions, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how specific measures are defined, coded, and calculated, as well as their direct relationship to resident care and facility performance. Topics include functional status measures, falls and falls with major injury, pressure ulcers, psychotropic medications, and other key measures. QMs used for the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Value-Based Purchasing (VBP) Program and Quality Reporting Program (QRP) will also be reviewed. Practical strategies, case examples, and documentation tips will be shared to help facilities not only improve their data accuracy but also enhance resident outcomes.

Fall Prevention Program Reboot (June – July; 6-week Series)
This comprehensive series will provide the LTC/AL team with detailed fall management program components to effectively reduce fall risks, fall occurrences and possible injuries. Topics will include QAPI systems to drive improved safety, assessing for fall risk, completing thorough Root Cause Analysis, targeting interventions to individual resident risk factors, developing comprehensive fall management care plans, and elevating staff engagement in the fall prevention effort.

Essential Guide to Responding to Immediate Jeopardy (October-November; 5-week Series)
This intensive series offers long-term care professionals an in-depth understanding of the regulatory requirements and process involved when an Immediate Jeopardy has been cited. Tips and strategies will be shared for writing an IJ Removal Plan and subsequent PoC, and for preparing for the IJ removal and revisit surveys that will follow. Sessions 3 through 5 will focus on the most commonly cited IJ issues: Abuse, Infection Control, and Accidents/Incidents with insights on best practices for addressing these areas.
