NCHCFA Staff Attends NC Business Committee for Education Annual Meeting
NCHCFA staff attended the North Carolina Business Committee for Education (NCBCE) Annual Meeting in Raleigh on November 6, featuring remarks from Governor Josh Stein. The event highlighted how innovation and collaboration are shaping the state’s future workforce through initiatives such as Students@Work, AI Fellows, and NC Career Launch.
A key focus was on the Career Launch: Healthcare Apprenticeships and Partnerships panel—an inspiring discussion about connecting high school students to meaningful, high-demand healthcare careers through paid pre-apprenticeships.
“We were especially proud to see our member Cissy McCoy of Trinity Elms engaging in this effort, partnering with Dr. Holly Myers of Davidson-Davie Community College, Alyse Wooldridge of Davie High School, and Sullivan Schenck of NCBCE to develop a nursing pre-apprenticeship model,” said Eric Kivisto, Director of Quality Improvement Projects, NCHCFA, and Executive Director, FutureCare of NC.
Events like this reinforce the importance of collaboration between education, employers, and state partners to strengthen North Carolina’s healthcare workforce pipeline.
