Spotlight on NCHCFA Fall Symposium Educational Sessions  

We will be featuring educational sessions from the NCHCFA Annual Fall Symposium on September 8 – 10 at Wild Dunes Resort in Isle of Palms, SC leading up to the event.  

Back by popular demand, do not miss Bekka Cheek’s, NCHCFA’s Director of Regulatory and Clinical Services, session on Navigating Survey Trends in North Carolina: Regulatory Updates and Compliance Insights on Monday, September 8 at 2:15 p.m.  

Bekka’s presentation will cover the latest updates from CMS and DHSR, including top citations, jeopardy-level deficiencies, emerging focus areas, and evolving survey expectations. Equip your team with the knowledge and insights needed to stay compliant and prepared in today’s regulatory landscape.   

 

Closing out the first day of the Fall Symposium on Monday is Navigating the IDR Process: Essential Strategies for Skilled Nursing Facilities at 4:00 p.m. This session is presented by a trio of experts: Christy Dunn, Associate, Young Moore & Henderson, P.A.; Terri Harris, Partner, Fox Rothschild; and Susan Fradenburg, Partner, Fox Rothschild.   

Christy, Terri, and Susan will explain the “who, what, when, where, and why” of disputing cited deficiencies through informal dispute resolution (IDR) and independent informal dispute resolution (IIDR). They will assist members in building a roadmap to navigate the process of disputing cited deficiencies effectively. The session will focus on strategies facilities should adopt to increase the likelihood of success in IDR and IIDR.
