2022 AWARDS PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT

2021 NCHCFA Award Winners

The NCHCFA Annual Awards program provides the opportunity to acknowledge front line unlicensed personnel who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in the long term care profession. The program honors individuals who are the backbone in our facilities because of the care they provide to residents. Each year an outstanding Nurse Aide is recognized from each of NCHCFA’s five districts. In addition, one recipient in a non-nursing discipline is recognized for the “Riley W. Clapp Outstanding Service” award. Each of the award recipients is honored at the Annual Awards Gala during the Annual Convention & Expo. At the conclusion of the event, one of the five Nurse Aide winners is recognized as the J.R. Garrett Direct Care Worker of the Year Award for the exceptional service they provide to North Carolina’s long term care residents. Individuals are nominated by their colleagues for these special awards.

The NCHCFA Education and Programs Committee has decided to change the way we honor our frontline healthcare workers this year. Instead of asking our members to nominate one staff member from their facility for the 2022 NCHCFA Awards Program and only selecting six winners, NCHCFA would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to all of our frontline healthcare heroes for their courage, perseverance, and dedication. In December, NCHCFA will be sending each member facility an award of recognition that can be displayed in their building. It is our intention to honor our 2021 NCHCFA Award Winners during our in-person Awards Banquet at the 2022 NCHCFA Annual Convention & Expo and to resume our usual awards program for calendar year 2023, which will open for nominees in the fall of 2022, for recognition at the 2023 Annual Convention & Expo.
