The 9th Annual Summer Symposium originally scheduled for August 5-7, 2020 will now be held virtually! NCHCFA has partnered with Pathway Health to create this online learning platform. The Summer Symposium will be a combination of live and on-demand programs, allowing attendees to participate in the summer convention at their own pace and on their own time schedule.

The Virtual Summer Symposium offers 12 hours of educational programming led by nationally renowned speakers! Live programs will be held over four days, August 4 & 6, and 11 & 13 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM. Select live programs will be recorded and available on-demand. Live Only Session! COVID-19 Panel Discussion: A Look Forward with North Carolina’s Health Officials

In this session, attendees with hear directly from North Carolina’s health officials about current COVID-19 response and future outlook as it relates to nursing facilities. This session will be in the form of a virtual panel discussion, with the State HHS Secretary, the state’s COVID-19 designated Lead official for long term care facilities, the head of the state’s regulatory agency, and the state’s Medicaid Director. Attendees will receive an overview of past and current action, as well as future plans for the state’s comprehensive COVID-19 response, as well as how long term care facilities will be supported. Attendees will also receive up to date information, as well as a then-current outlook on future plans for regulatory actions, including continuing or discontinuing any waivers then in place, as well as a similar presentation and Medicaid funding support and program requirements. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions of the panelists.

Licensed Nursing Home Administrators and Nurses can earn up to 12 hours of continuing education. All programs are approved by the NC Board of Nursing, NC State Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators, and pending NAB approval. A select on-demand program is also pending approval for 2.0 contact hours for Social Workers and Activity Directors.
