COVID-19 delivered a severe blow to healthcare delivery – especially at skilled nursing facilities. A recent national survey revealed that many family healthcare decision makers have lost confidence in the ability of nursing homes to provide quality care safely for their loved ones. In fact, a majority say they prefer to care for their loved ones at home if they have that choice. This session will share research that defines the mental, emotional and practical barriers families are experiencing with recommendations for how providers can overcome those obstacles. Discussions will also address concerns of referrers and how to strengthen relationships with them by evolving from a transactional mindset to becoming an indispensable partner in the continuum of care. Lastly, this session will apply this information to help participants build several essential elements to fuel their marketing and business development efforts going forward.
Objectives
o Understand and overcome resident/patient and family concerns
o Strengthen referrer relationships
o Build essential elements for business development and marketing
